Japanese Crisis

I just saw this picture on the internet and though this could EASILY happen in the United States.  Amazingly the Japanese people seem very calm and organized during the major crisis.  I hate to say it but I don't think this would happen in the US.

So my message today is are you going to be one of these people or are you truly prepared for a disaster that could disrupt services for weeks or longer.  Just something to consider as you prepare your households.

Prepackaged Food

I wanted to tell everyone about a deal I found from eFoodsdirect.com.  I paid for shipping and handling and received 3 bags of food, tortilla soup, creamy potato soup and cheesy chicken rice casserole.  The nice thing about these meals is that they only require water.  No other ingredients are required.

So today at lunch, Brian, myself and the two little ones tried tortilla soup.  I added some crushed tortilla chips to the bottom of the bowl before pouring the soup in.  Then we added some shredded cheddar cheese on top.  I have to say I was a little hesitant to take my first bite but I looked over to see my two little ones gobbing it up.  They even requested seconds!  I took my first bite and it was really yummy.  Even Brian said it was yummy and that it was time to add some of those meals to our 72 hour kits.  I agreed.

So I am passing this on to you so that you can see if this might work for your family.  The packets say they serve 4 but it feed all 4 of us with plenty left over.  It made a lot more than I thought it would.  The variety that eFoods offers is nice and the prepackaged kits are really nice.
